HTML

Innovative Learning Week 2013 takes place between 18 - 22 February and all regular labs, tutorials, and lectures will be replaced with activities that will allow students to develop new skills and to take part in interdisciplinary learning and create new networks.

You can view last year's programme by following the link to Innovative Learning Week 2012 below.

Short Film Competition

We are inviting students to make short films about economics.

While mobile phones are perfectly fine, you should feel free to use any other equipment and edit your film as you wish - if you want to make a Spielberg-esque production, so much the better.

The only brief is that it is on Economics (you could for example base it on a principle from Economics, or on an application of an idea that you have learnt in an economics course to something you see in the real world or something else).

The top three entries chosen by the judges will receive prizes of £400, £200 and £100 respectively and will be shown at the Cameo Cinema prior to the screening of Moneyball. Also, we may use some of the films in future lectures and programme materials!!!

You can enter individually or as part of a group. The competition is open to both undergraduates and post graduates, but you can’t feature in more than one film. The maximum length of film is two minutes.

Update:

The results are:

1st - The Battle of the Sexes by Constantin Reinprecht and Leonie Hammerstein (2nd year)

2nd - Bear's Market for Lemons by Georgina Allen (4th year)

3rd - Game Theory by Van Lynn Foo (1st year)

All the films are available to view online on the School's YouTube page.
