MA Economics, 2003

Following graduation from Edinburgh I was fortunate enough to receive funding from the St Andrew's Society for the state of New York to study at New York University towards a Masters in Economics. I had a great year and a half, learnt a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the chances to mix with Nobel Prize winners and other world leaders who often came to talk at NYU: Noam Chomsky, Bill Clinton, Robert Mundell and the resident Robert Engel, to name a few. I also had the chance to do a bit of teaching with the undergraduates which was very rewarding as well as helping to pay the bills.

After that I had four months travelling in Africa and South America with a couple of months volunteering in township schools in South Africa along the way. I returned to the UK in Oct 2005 to take up a job with OC&C as a strategy consultant in London, which is where I am now.
